وَ أَنْتَ مُؤَیِّدِی بِالنَّصْرِ عَلَى أَعْدَائِی وَ لَوْ لاَ نَصْرُکَ إِیَّایَ (لِی) لَکُنْتُ مِنَ الْمَغْلُوبِینَ‏
 Thou backed up me with Thy support against my enemies; had not Thy support )helped me( I would have certainly been defeated. 
یَا مَنْ خَصَّ نَفْسَهُ بِالسُّمُوِّ وَ الرِّفْعَةِ فَأَوْلِیَاؤُهُ بِعِزِّهِ یَعْتَزُّونَ‏
 O He unto whom belong sublimity and supremacy exclusively, but His friends surpass in honour and glory under His authority. 
یَا مَنْ جَعَلَتْ لَهُ الْمُلُوکُ نِیرَ الْمَذَلَّةِ عَلَى أَعْنَاقِهِمْ فَهُمْ مِنْ سَطَوَاتِهِ خَائِفُونَ‏
 O He before whom rulers and kings hang their heads in abject surrender, frightened to death and stunned by His majesty. 
یَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ الْأَعْیُنِ وَ مَا تُخْفِی الصُّدُورُ وَ غَیْبَ مَا تَأْتِیَ بِهِ الْأَزْمِنَةُ وَ الدُّهُورُ
 He is aware of the furtive glances and that which is buried in the hearts, and events that are lying hidden and lurking in time and space. 
یَا مَنْ لاَ یَعْلَمُ کَیْفَ هُوَ إِلاَّ هُوَ یَا مَنْ لاَ یَعْلَمُ مَا هُوَ إِلاَّ هُوَ
 O He about whom no one at allknows "how" He is, except He. O He about whom not a soul knows "what" He is, except He. 
یَا مَنْ لاَ (یَعْلَمُ مَا یَعْلَمُهُ إِلاَّ هُوَ) یَعْلَمُهُ إِلاَّ هُوَ یَا مَنْ کَبَسَ الْأَرْضَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ وَ سَدَّ الْهَوَاءَ بِالسَّمَاءِ
 O He whom no one knows except He. O He who surfaced the earth over the water, and plugged the space between heaven and earth with a layer of air. 
یَا مَنْ لَهُ أَکْرَمُ الْأَسْمَاءِ یَا ذَا الْمَعْرُوفِ الَّذِی لاَ یَنْقَطِعُ أَبَداً
 O He to whom belong the choicest names. O Owner of everlasting "Kindness", in force till eternity, never to be cut off. 
یَا مُقَیِّضَ الرَّکْبِ لِیُوسُفَ فِی الْبَلَدِ الْقَفْرِ وَ مُخْرِجَهُ مِنَ الْجُبِّ وَ جَاعِلَهُ بَعْدَ الْعُبُودِیَّةِ مَلِکاً
 O He who influenced a troop of horsemen to ride into thewaste and empty desert for the sake of Yoosuf; )and in this manner( took him out from the well, and changed his fortunefrom subjugation to dominance. 
یَا رَادَّهُ عَلَى یَعْقُوبَ بَعْدَ أَنِ ابْیَضَّتْ عَیْنَاهُ مِنَ الْحُزْنِ فَهُوَ کَظِیمٌ‏
 O He who paid attention to Yaqoob"s cries of grief, and hewas calm and restful. 
یَا کَاشِفَ الضُّرِّ وَ الْبَلْوَى عَنْ أَیُّوبَ وَ (یَا) مُمْسِکَ یَدَیْ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ ذَبْحِ ابْنِهِ بَعْدَ کِبَرِ سِنِّهِ وَ فَنَاءِ عُمُرِهِ‏
 O He who removed hardships and sorrows from Ayyoob. O He who caught hold of Ibrahim"s hand when he was about to cut the throat of his son, in old age, at the end of his life. 
یَا مَنِ اسْتَجَابَ لِزَکَرِیَّا فَوَهَبَ لَهُ یَحْیَى وَ لَمْ یَدَعْهُ فَرْداً وَحِیداً
 O He who heard the supplication of Zakariyya and gave him Yahya and so did not abandon him to be lonely and helpless. 
یَا مَنْ أَخْرَجَ یُونُسَ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْحُوتِ یَا مَنْ فَلَقَ الْبَحْرَ لِبَنِی إِسْرَائِیلَ فَأَنْجَاهُمْ وَ جَعَلَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَ جُنُودَهُ مِنَ الْمُغْرَقِینَ‏
 O He who let Yoonus come out from the belly of a large fish. O He who cut open the sea for the children of Israel to save them, and let Firawn and his troops drown. 
یَا مَنْ أَرْسَلَ الرِّیَاحَ مُبَشِّرَاتٍ بَیْنَ یَدَیْ رَحْمَتِهِ‏
 O He who sends winds laden with clouds anouncing rain before Thy mercy )drops from the heaven(. 
یَا مَنْ لَمْ یَعْجَلْ عَلَى مَنْ عَصَاهُ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ یَا مَنِ اسْتَنْقَذَ السَّحَرَةَ مِنْ بَعْدِ طُولِ الْجُحُودِ
 O He who does not take people, who disobey, to task in a hurry. O He who granted amnesty to the magicians )who confronted Moosaa on the behest of Firawn( although they used to, day after day, deny the truth, 
وَ قَدْ غَدَوْا فِی نِعْمَتِهِ یَأْکُلُونَ رِزْقَهُ وَ یَعْبُدُونَ غَیْرَهُ وَ قَدْ حَادُّوهُ وَ نَادُّوهُ وَ کَذَّبُوا رُسُلَهُ‏
 to such a degree that while they ate their daily food, making use of His bounties, worshipped some one else other than Him, opposed Him, ran away from Him, and belied His Messengers. 
یَا اللَّهُ یَا اللَّهُ یَا بَدِی‏ءُ یَا بَدِیعُ (بَدِیعاً) لاَ نِدَّ (بَدْءَ) لَکَ یَا دَائِماً لاَ نَفَادَ لَکَ یَا حَیّاً حِینَ لاَ حَیَ‏
 O Allah! O Allah! O He who originated the beginning! O He who brought into being! There is no equal comparable to Thee, O Everlasting! There is no end )ceasing( for Thee, O Everliving! O He who, when there will be no living being, 
یَا مُحْیِیَ الْمَوْتَى یَا مَنْ هُوَ قَائِمٌ عَلَى کُلِّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا کَسَبَتْ‏
 shall bring the dead to life again! O He who keeps an eye on and watches over every soul, as towhat for and how )they( make efforts! 
یَا مَنْ قَلَّ لَهُ شُکْرِی فَلَمْ یَحْرِمْنِی وَ عَظُمَتْ خَطِیئَتِی فَلَمْ یَفْضَحْنِی وَ رَآنِی عَلَى الْمَعَاصِی فَلَمْ یَشْهَرْنِی (یَخْذُلْنِی)
 O He unto whom rarely I turned thankful but who did not deprive me of the supports of life; my lapses were many but He did not put me to shame; I boldly transgressed but He did not let )my conduct( become known! 
یَا مَنْ حَفِظَنِی فِی صِغَرِی یَا مَنْ رَزَقَنِی فِی کِبَرِی‏
 O He who looked after me in my childhood! O He who provided me with the means of subsistence when I grew up! 
یَا مَنْ أَیَادِیهِ عِنْدِی لاَ تُحْصَى وَ نِعَمُهُ لاَ تُجَازَى یَا مَنْ عَارَضَنِی بِالْخَیْرِ وَ الْإِحْسَانِ وَ عَارَضْتُهُ بِالْإِسَاءَةِ وَ الْعِصْیَانِ‏
 O He whose favours bestowed on me cannot be counted, and His bounties cannot be reviewed in detail! O He who placed at my disposal goodness and kindness, )but( I, in return, held out evil and wickedness. 
یَا مَنْ هَدَانِی لِلْإِیمَانِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ أَعْرِفَ شُکْرَ الاِمْتِنَانِ‏
 O He who guided me unto The true faith in advance, before I could learn "giving thanks" for the benefit received. 
یَا مَنْ دَعَوْتُهُ مَرِیضاً فَشَفَانِی وَ عُرْیَاناً فَکَسَانِی وَ جَائِعاً فَأَشْبَعَنِی‏
 O He who was besought:in sickness, so He restored me to health, in bareness, so He covered me; in hunger, so He gave me enough to eat my fill; 
وَ عَطْشَانَ فَأَرْوَانِی وَ ذَلِیلاً فَأَعَزَّنِی وَ جَاهِلاً فَعَرَّفَنِی وَ وَحِیداً فَکَثَّرَنِی وَ غَائِباً فَرَدَّنِی‏
 in thirst, so He provided with water to quench my thirst; in nothingness, so He made much of me; in ignorance, so He gave me wisdom; in loneliness, so He gave me many friends; in obscure waywardness, so Hebrought me back to reason and virtue, 
وَ مُقِلاًّ فَأَغْنَانِی وَ مُنْتَصِراً فَنَصَرَنِی وَ غَنِیّاً فَلَمْ یَسْلُبْنِی وَ أَمْسَکْتُ عَنْ جَمِیعِ ذَلِکَ فَابْتَدَأَنِی‏
 in insufficiency, so He let me have enough to live upon;in helplessness, so He took me to safety; in well-being, so He did not withdraw it from me; )whereas( I clung and held to things Thou had started, and was miserly. 
فَلَکَ الْحَمْدُ وَ الشُّکْرُ یَا مَنْ أَقَالَ عَثْرَتِی وَ نَفَّسَ کُرْبَتِی وَ أَجَابَ دَعْوَتِی‏
 Therefore, praise is for Thee, and also thankfulness. O He who overlooked my lapses, relieved me from anxiety and grief, gave answer to my call, 
وَ سَتَرَ عَوْرَتِی وَ غَفَرَ ذُنُوبِی وَ بَلَّغَنِی طَلِبَتِی وَ نَصَرَنِی عَلَى عَدُوِّی‏
 covered up my shortcomings, exempted me from )the consequences of( my wrongdoing, let me have that which I asked for, helped me to get the better of my adversary, 
وَ إِنْ أَعُدَّ نِعَمَکَ وَ مِنَنَکَ وَ کَرَائِمَ مِنَحِکَ لاَ أُحْصِیهَا یَا مَوْلاَیَ‏
 and )how many of( Thy bounties, favours and blessings, I asked for and got, cannot be counted. O my Lord-Master. 
أَنْتَ الَّذِی مَنَنْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَنْعَمْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَحْسَنْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَجْمَلْتَ‏
 Thou )it is( who: bestowed benefits, overwhelmed with bounties, granted favours, treated with kindness, 
أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَفْضَلْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَکْمَلْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی رَزَقْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی وَفَّقْتَ‏
 gave more and more, brought to fullness, made available means of sustenance, rendered )things and events( convenient and useful, 
أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَعْطَیْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَغْنَیْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَقْنَیْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی آوَیْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی کَفَیْتَ‏
 donated endowments, relieved from privation, imparted, strength and influence, allowed to take refuge in Thy sanctuary; arranged supplies adequate to wants, 
أَنْتَ الَّذِی هَدَیْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی عَصَمْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی سَتَرْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی غَفَرْتَ‏
 showed the right path, watched over, covered up, cancelled penalty, 
أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَقَلْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی مَکَّنْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَعْزَزْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَعَنْتَ‏
 made allowances, implanted fearlessness and fortitude, made a present of honour and glory, assisted by aid, 
أَنْتَ الَّذِی عَضَدْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَیَّدْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی نَصَرْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی شَفَیْتَ‏
 strengthened by encouragement, lent a helping hand, gave occasion to succeed, restored to health, 
أَنْتَ الَّذِی عَافَیْتَ أَنْتَ الَّذِی أَکْرَمْتَ تَبَارَکْتَ وَ تَعَالَیْتَ‏
 kept up well-being and welfare, gave respect and did favours. Thou gives blessings, and high rewards, 
فَلَکَ الْحَمْدُ دَائِماً وَ لَکَ الشُّکْرُ وَاصِباً أَبَداً
 so, praise is for Thee, for ever, thanks are for Thee, in unbroken succession, till eternity. 
ثُمَّ أَنَا یَا إِلَهِی الْمُعْتَرِفُ بِذُنُوبِی فَاغْفِرْهَا لِی‏
 However, I do, O my God, make a clean confession, therefore, forgive my lapses. 
أَنَا الَّذِی أَسَأْتُ أَنَا الَّذِی أَخْطَأْتُ أَنَا الَّذِی هَمَمْتُ أَنَا الَّذِی جَهِلْتُ أَنَا الَّذِی غَفَلْتُ‏
 )It is( I who: transgressed, made mistakes, took liberties, acted foolishly, failed to carry out )obligations( through carelessness, 
أَنَا الَّذِی سَهَوْتُ أَنَا الَّذِی اعْتَمَدْتُ أَنَا الَّذِی تَعَمَّدْتُ أَنَا الَّذِی وَعَدْتُ‏
 blundered through inattention, relied )solely( upon )others and ownself(, deliberately did )wrong(, made a promise, 
وَ أَنَا الَّذِی أَخْلَفْتُ أَنَا الَّذِی نَکَثْتُ أَنَا الَّذِی أَقْرَرْتُ أَنَا الَّذِی اعْتَرَفْتُ بِنِعْمَتِکَ عَلَیَّ وَ عِنْدِی وَ أَبُوءُ بِذُنُوبِی‏
 but did not keep )it(, failed to have confidence, rested satisfied without making opposition )to evil(. )It is( I who acknowledge Thy bounties, bestowed upon me, )which are( still in my possession, feel aversion, repent and disconnect links with my )past( offences, 
فَاغْفِرْهَا لِی یَا مَنْ لاَ تَضُرُّهُ ذُنُوبُ عِبَادِهِ وَ هُوَ الْغَنِیُّ عَنْ طَاعَتِهِمْ‏
 so free me from their burden, O He who neither comes to grief nor suffers any loss on account of crimes committed by the people, )on the other hand( is ableto do without and dispense with their acts of obedience also, 
وَ الْمُوَفِّقُ مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحاً مِنْهُمْ بِمَعُونَتِهِ وَ رَحْمَتِهِ فَلَکَ الْحَمْدُ إِلَهِی وَ سَیِّدِی‏
 )but( He favours those who do good, through His assistance and kindness. Praise be to Thee, O my God, my Master! 
إِلَهِی أَمَرْتَنِی فَعَصَیْتُکَ وَ نَهَیْتَنِی فَارْتَکَبْتُ نَهْیَکَ فَأَصْبَحْتُ لاَ ذَا بَرَاءَةٍ لِی فَأَعْتَذِرَ وَ لاَ ذَا قُوَّةٍ فَأَنْتَصِرَ
 My God, Thou has made a constitution )but( I miscarried Thy commands, Thou forbade by law but I indulged in Thy prohibitions, now I am wide awake )to the fact that I have fallen into a dilemma(, neither do I have a reasonable pretext to free myself from guilt, nor there is any power )in the whole universe equal to Thee( which may come to my rescue, 
فَبِأَیِّ شَیْ‏ءٍ أَسْتَقْبِلُکَ (أَسْتَقِیلُکَ) یَا مَوْلاَیَ أَ بِسَمْعِی أَمْ بِبَصَرِی أَمْ بِلِسَانِی أَمْ بِیَدِی أَمْ بِرِجْلِی‏
 so which "means" that conciliates Thy favour may I put forward? O my Lord-Master! whether my ears, or my eyes, or my tongue, or my hands, or my feet? 
أَ لَیْسَ کُلُّهَا نِعَمَکَ عِنْدِی وَ بِکُلِّهَا عَصَیْتُکَ یَا مَوْلاَیَ فَلَکَ الْحُجَّةُ وَ السَّبِیلُ عَلَیَ‏
 Are not all these Thy bounties bestowed on me? Each of which I used to cross Thy barriers. O my Lord-Master! Thy allegation and proceedings are based upon sound reason. 
یَا مَنْ سَتَرَنِی مِنَ الْآبَاءِ وَ الْأُمَّهَاتِ أَنْ یَزْجُرُونِی وَ مِنَ الْعَشَائِرِ وَ الْإِخْوَانِ أَنْ یُعَیِّرُونِی وَ مِنَ السَّلاَطِینِ أَنْ یُعَاقِبُونِی‏
 O He who protected me from fathers and mothers lest they might have driven me away, from friends and brothers lest they might have reviled and dishonoured me, from rulers lest they might have persecuted me. 
وَ لَوْ اطَّلَعُوا یَا مَوْلاَیَ عَلَى مَا اطَّلَعْتَ عَلَیْهِ مِنِّی إِذًا مَا أَنْظَرُونِی وَ لَرَفَضُونِی وَ قَطَعُونِی‏
 And if they did know, O my Lord-Master, that which Thou knows about me, they would have not been favourably inclined towards me, and would have renounced, forsaken and rejected me. 
فَهَا أَنَا ذَا یَا إِلَهِی بَیْنَ یَدَیْکَ یَا سَیِّدِی خَاضِعٌ ذَلِیلٌ حَصِیرٌ حَقِیرٌ
 Look at me. It is I, O my God, who stands before Thee, O my Master, submissive, humble, helpless, small. 
لاَ ذُو بَرَاءَةٍ فَأَعْتَذِرَ وَ لاَ ذُو قُوَّةٍ فَأَنْتَصِرَ وَ لاَ حُجَّةٍ فَأَحْتَجَّ بِهَا
 I do not have any means to demand acquittal, so accept my apology, nor do I have any ability to rely upon, so help me, I do not have any plea to put forward as an argument, 
وَ لاَ قَائِلٌ لَمْ أَجْتَرِحْ وَ لَمْ أَعْمَلْ سُوءاً وَ مَا عَسَى الْجُحُودُ وَ لَوْ جَحَدْتُ یَا مَوْلاَیَ یَنْفَعُنِی‏
 )as( it cannot convince, I cannot try to maintain that I had not sinned. How can it be denied? Supposing that I deny, O my Lord-Master, 
کَیْفَ وَ أَنَّى ذَلِکَ وَ جَوَارِحِی کُلُّهَا شَاهِدَةٌ عَلَیَّ بِمَا قَدْ عَمِلْتُ (عَلِمْتَ)
 )then( how and where will it benefit me? All parts of my body give testimony to that which I carried out 
وَ عَلِمْتُ یَقِیناً غَیْرَ ذِی شَکٍّ أَنَّکَ سَائِلِی مِنْ عَظَائِمِ الْأُمُورِ
 and vouch for the belief I was aware of; not entertaining any doubt that, verily, Thou would question me about the important issue, 
وَ أَنَّکَ الْحَکَمُ (الْحَکِیمُ) الْعَدْلُ الَّذِی لاَ تَجُورُ وَ عَدْلُکَ مُهْلِکِی وَ مِنْ کُلِّ عَدْلِکَ مَهْرَبِی‏
 and that, verily, Thou art a just judge who does not unjustly bear hard upon )people(, and Thy just action against me would have destroyed me. Afraid of Thy justice I sink in the ground, 
فَإِنْ تُعَذِّبْنِی یَا إِلَهِی فَبِذُنُوبِی بَعْدَ حُجَّتِکَ عَلَیَّ وَ إِنْ تَعْفُ عَنِّی فَبِحِلْمِکَ وَ جُودِکَ وَ کَرَمِکَ‏
 O my God, because if Thou takes me to task for my sins, Thou art justified in view of the decisive warning given in advance, and if Thou grants me a pardon it would because of Thy indulgence, generosity and kindness. 
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِینَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرِینَ‏
 There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified! Verily I have been of the wrongdoers. There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified! Verily, I have been among those who asked for forgiveness. 
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُوَحِّدِینَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ الْخَائِفِینَ‏
 There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified! Verily, I have been among those who professed the unity of Allah. There is no god save It hou. Be Thou glorified! Verily, I have been among those who stood in awe of Allah"s majesty. 
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ الْوَجِلِینَ‏
 There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified! Verily, I have been among those who were afraid of Allah"s punishment. 
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ الرَّاجِینَ‏
 There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified! Verily, I have been among those who were confident that their expectations would come true. 
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ الرَّاغِبِینَ‏
 There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified! Verily, I have been among those who longed for )Thee(. 
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُهَلِّلِینَ‏
 There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified! Verily, I have been among those who declared "There is no god save Allah". 
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ السَّائِلِینَ‏
 There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified! Verily, I have been among those who beseeched )Thee(. 
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُسَبِّحِینَ‏
 There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified! Verily, I have been among those who said "Glory be to Allah". 
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ إِنِّی کُنْتُ مِنَ الْمُکَبِّرِینَ‏
 There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified!Verily, I have been among those who proclaimed "Allah is Great" 
لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَکَ رَبِّی وَ رَبُّ آبَائِیَ الْأَوَّلِینَ‏
 There is no god save Thou. Be Thou glorified! My Lord-Nourisher and the Lord-Nourisher of my forefathers! 
اللَّهُمَّ هَذَا ثَنَائِی عَلَیْکَ مُمَجِّداً وَ إِخْلاَصِی لِذِکْرِکَ مُوَحِّداً وَ إِقْرَارِی بِآلاَئِکَ مُعَدِّداً
 O Allah! This is my praise for Thee to celebrate Thy glory, )this is( my sincerity in remembering Thee as the One and Only God whom )alone( I worship, and my acknowledgement of the bounties I obtained from Thee. 
وَ إِنْ کُنْتُ مُقِرّاً أَنِّی لَمْ أُحْصِهَا لِکَثْرَتِهَا وَ سُبُوغِهَا وَ تَظَاهُرِهَا
 Although I admit to have received and enjoyed them but I cannot sum up their abundance, frequency, usefulness, 
وَ تَقَادُمِهَا إِلَى حَادِثٍ مَا لَمْ تَزَلْ تَتَعَهَّدُنِی (تَتَغَمَّدُنِی) بِهِ مَعَهَا مُنْذُ خَلَقْتَنِی وَ بَرَأْتَنِی مِنْ أَوَّلِ الْعُمُرِ
 and their taking precedence over each other to come in advance, which never were discontinued. Thou prescribed and then attached them to me since my birth, and right from my first day )in this world(, 
مِنَ الْإِغْنَاءِ مِنَ (بَعْدَ) الْفَقْرِ وَ کَشْفِ الضُّرِّ وَ تَسْبِیبِ الْیُسْرِ وَ دَفْعِ الْعُسْرِ
 through sufficiency, Thou set me free from the clutches of insufficiency, dispersed sorrows, made available ease and comfort, removed hardship, 
وَ تَفْرِیجِ الْکَرْبِ وَ الْعَافِیَةِ فِی الْبَدَنِ وَ السَّلاَمَةِ فِی الدِّینِ‏
 mitigated pain, kept my body in sound condition, preserved my religion. 
وَ لَوْ رَفَدَنِی عَلَى قَدْرِ ذِکْرِ نِعْمَتِکَ جَمِیعُ الْعَالَمِینَ مِنَ الْأَوَّلِینَ وَ الْآخِرِینَ‏
 If )it is inferred that( I can call to memory Thy bounties and fix their quality and quantity, )then( neither the whole universe, from the beginning to the end, 
مَا قَدَرْتُ وَ لاَ هُمْ عَلَى ذَلِکَ تَقَدَّسْتَ وَ تَعَالَیْتَ مِنْ رَبٍّ کَرِیمٍ عَظِیمٍ رَحِیمٍ‏
 nor I have the ability to do so. Thou art glorified and praised because Thou art the LordNourisher, Kind, Great, and Merciful. 
لاَ تُحْصَى آلاَؤُکَ وَ لاَ یُبْلَغُ ثَنَاؤُکَ وَ لاَ تُکَافَى نَعْمَاؤُکَ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
 Thy favours cannot be enumerated. It is not possible to find words to do justice to Thy praise, nor there is any corresponding return for Thy services. Send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad, 
وَ أَتْمِمْ عَلَیْنَا نِعَمَکَ وَ أَسْعِدْنَا بِطَاعَتِکَ سُبْحَانَکَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ‏
 and make complete the bestowal of bounties on us. Let us take delight in Thyobedience. Be Thou glorified! There is no god save Thou. 
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّکَ تُجِیبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ وَ تَکْشِفُ السُّوءَ وَ تُغِیثُ الْمَکْرُوبَ‏
 O Allah, verily, Thou gives answer to the call of the helpless; drives away evil, comes to help the aggrieved, 
وَ تَشْفِی السَّقِیمَ وَ تُغْنِی الْفَقِیرَ وَ تَجْبُرُ الْکَسِیرَ وَ تَرْحَمُ الصَّغِیرَ وَ تُعِینُ الْکَبِیرَ
 restores the ailing to health, makes better the plight of the poor, puts the "out of order" in order, takes pity on and cares for the insignificant and the underage, and supports the old. 
وَ لَیْسَ دُونَکَ ظَهِیرٌ وَ لاَ فَوْقَکَ قَدِیرٌ وَ أَنْتَ الْعَلِیُّ الْکَبِیرُ
 There is no patron besides Thee, nor is any one more able )omnipotent( than Thee. Thou art the Supreme Great. 
یَا مُطْلِقَ الْمُکَبَّلِ الْأَسِیرِ یَا رَازِقَ الطِّفْلِ الصَّغِیرِ یَا عِصْمَةَ الْخَائِفِ الْمُسْتَجِیرِ یَا مَنْ لاَ شَرِیکَ لَهُ وَ لاَ وَزِیرَ
 O He who sets free prisoners kept under detention. O He who sustains babies in their cradles. O He who grants asylum to those who seek refuge with Thee. O He for whom there is no associate, nor a consultant, 
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَعْطِنِی فِی هَذِهِ الْعَشِیَّةِ أَفْضَلَ مَا أَعْطَیْتَ وَ أَنَلْتَ أَحَداً مِنْ عِبَادِکَ‏
 send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad, and give to me, in this night, rewards, better than that which Thou granted to any of Thy servants, 
مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ تُولِیهَا وَ آلاَءٍ تُجَدِّدُهَا وَ بَلِیَّةٍ تَصْرِفُهَا وَ کُرْبَةٍ تَکْشِفُهَا وَ دَعْوَةٍ تَسْمَعُهَا وَ حَسَنَةٍ تَتَقَبَّلُهَا وَ سَیِّئَةٍ تَتَغَمَّدُهَا
 who received Thy bounties as free gifts, renew and regenerate the advantages already made available, turn off disadvantages, remove hardships, listen to supplications, accept good deeds, overlook lapses. 
إِنَّکَ لَطِیفٌ بِمَا تَشَاءُ خَبِیرٌ وَ عَلَى کُلِّ شَیْ‏ءٍ قَدِیرٌ
 Verily, Thou art Elegant in kindness and friendliness, and is aware of that which Thou wills, and Thou art able to do all things. 
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّکَ أَقْرَبُ مَنْ دُعِیَ وَ أَسْرَعُ مَنْ أَجَابَ وَ أَکْرَمُ مَنْ عَفَا وَ أَوْسَعُ مَنْ أَعْطَى وَ أَسْمَعُ مَنْ سُئِلَ‏
 O Allah! Thy nearness is nearer than any claim to intimacy, Thy readiness to oblige is more prompt than any complaisance, Thy pardon is more generous than any forgiveness, Thy grants are more fullfilling than any endowment, Thy response to requests is more attentive than any hearkening. 
یَا رَحْمَانَ الدُّنْیَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ وَ رَحِیمَهُمَا لَیْسَ کَمِثْلِکَ مَسْئُولٌ وَ لاَ سِوَاکَ مَأْمُولٌ دَعَوْتُکَ فَأَجَبْتَنِی‏
 O He who is kind and compassionate, in this world as well as in the Hereafter. No one is requested as Thou art besought, no one other than Thee is expected to make expectations come true. I called Thee, so Thou heard me,
